 À l'occasion de la Journée internationale de la tolérance zéro à l'égard des mutilations génitales féminines (MGF), le 6 février dernier, l'ONU publiait de nouvelles données selon lesquelles moins de filles seraient désormais soumises à ces pratique. 

Rappelons que le 20 décembre 2012, l’Assemblée générale des Nations unies adoptait une résolution sur l’intensification de l’action mondiale visant à éliminer les mutilations génitales féminines et contre les violences à l’égard des femmes, un phénomène qui affecte 100 millions à 140 millions de femmes et de filles dans le monde.
